Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

About Me:
I’ve been basically obsessed with vampires since I was in high school, which is longer ago than I care to think about!  LOL    I grew up watching horror movies, so it initially started out with that.  Once I got into reading, I realized I enjoyed books even more than movies.  Naturally, my reading quickly branched out from vampires to the rest of the paranormal genre.  What can I say, I love the non humans!
Jennifer and I are constantly finding new authors to read from other blogs that we follow, and from people who follow us.  It’s great - I feel like I’ll never run out of things to read!
While paranormal is my favorite genre, I do read other things as well.

Lets see, here’s a little about me personally.  I’m a single mom – I have one son who is 17. (Aren’t teenagers such a joy?  LOL)  I live in Orlando, FL, but I actually grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Salisbury and lived there till I was in my 20’s.  That’s when I moved to the Western Shore where I lived both the Annapolis and Waldorf areas.  Finally I decided I was tired of cold winters and snow, so I moved down here and I love it!!   My other hobby besides reading is baking, and to a lesser extent, cooking.  I love to experiment in the kitchen, especially with desserts.   I usually take things I bake into work to share, so that way I don’t eat them all myself!  I work with Jennifer, so it works out well since she gets to enjoy them as well.

FAVORITES

This section is a work in progress.  I wanted to make sure I had at least a few listed, but there will definitely be more to follow!  Anyway, here they are…in no particular order.

Katie MacAlister ~
She has a couple different paranormal series.  One is a vampire series - the Dark Ones as she calls them.  Each book is mainly the story of one particular Dark One. Occasionally the characters interact with ones you've met in previous books.
Her other series is mainly about dragons, although there is more to them than that.  You run into all sorts of other paranormal characters!  There is a secondary series off of this one with a particular group of dragons.  You still see the characters from the original series, but they're not the main characters.
She also has quite a few romance novels, which are also very good.
In all her books she uses alot of humor, which makes them very fun to read!

MaryJanice Davidson ~
She has quite a few different series.  Some of them are paranormal and some of them aren't.  I haven't read the non paranormal books yet, but they're definitely on my list! As for the paranormal series, I love them. They're lite and entertaining.
Her undead series is great.  The books are full of characters you can't help but like and laugh at sometimes!
Her werewolf series is similar to the undead series, and they even come together in a few books.
She has a mermaid series, too.  I don’t like this one quite as much as the others, but it’s still really good.

Kelley Armstrong ~
She, too, has a few different series and again, I've only read the paranormal one.  The women of the otherworld sereis is about, well, women of the otherworld!  Each woman is unique in some "otherworldly" way.  The books are each narrated by a different character.  You meet most of the characters early on, and many of them have a book that they narrate and is mostly about them.

Kim Harrison ~
Her series about The Hollows revolves around a vampire, a pixie, and a runner - which is sort of like an FBI agent/bounty hunter. You also meet a myriad of other characters.  The stories are witty and engaging as you watch the main characters solve cases while dealing with issues in their own lives.

Dakota Cassidy ~
Dakota Cassidy is awesome!  I love her books, and she's super funny on facebook.  :)  I'm still working on catching up on all her books, since she was a somewhat recent discovery for me.  I've read her entire Accidental series, which is wonderful.  Each book is the story of a person "accidentally" becoming something paranormal.  The situations that unfold due to these circumstances are often both funny and dramatic.  It's definitley one of my favorite series out there!

Here are some other favorite authors of mine.  I'll write summaries/details of what they write as soon as I have a little more time!
