Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

Soul Thief by Jana Oliver

Riley Blackthorne is beginning to learn that there are worse things than death by demon. And love is just one of them…

Seventeen-year-old Riley has about had it up to here. After the devastating battle at the Tabernacle, trappers are dead and injured, her boyfriend Simon is gravely injured, and now her beloved late father’s been illegally poached from his grave by a very powerful necromancer. As if that’s not enough, there's Ori, one sizzling hot freelance demon hunter who’s made himself Riley’s unofficial body guard, and Beck, a super over-protective “friend” who acts more like a grouchy granddad.  With all the hassles, Riley’s almost ready to leave Atlanta altogether.
But as Atlanta’s demon count increases, the Vatican finally sends its own Demon Hunters to take care of the city’s “little” problem, and pandemonium breaks loose. Only Riley knows that she might be the center of Hell’s attention: an extremely powerful Grade 5 demon is stalking her, and her luck can't last forever…(courtesy of Amazon)

Book 2 in the Demon Trapper's Daughter series.

This book should be called Soul Deep - because that's how far it takes you.  Our leading girl, Riley, has been through so much - losing both parents (we learn in book 1) how could she possibly take on much more.  But that's exactly what happens.  She's a demon trapper - well apprentice - and she's kicking ass!  Her last name however, has her in a bind and demon's are hunting her down.

Of course, every teenage girl has drama - so why can't Riley just have to deal with the normal crap.  No, not our girl, she's got drama in her love life all while she's trying to stay alive.  My heart truly broke for her.  I finished this book last night and couldn't wait to write my review.  Oliver definitely delivers a story full of plot and action as well as sucking you into the character and living her emotional ride.  I love Oliver's writing style, and I enjoy when a series drops off and picks right back up so you just don't lose the momentum.  Even when they are months apart Oliver gets you right back in the middle of the story starting on the first page.

Oh Ori - WHY?  GUT RETCHING!  I'm pushing for my girl Riley, I can't wait to see how she pulls herself out of this and who ends up by her side when she does it!  I enjoyed that the first 2 chapters of the third book are a sneak peek in the end of this book.  But I'm DYING for it to come out.  **SPOILER** Riley my girl, it's ok, the next time will be better, and I'm hoping it will be with a certain trapper :)

Paige the Vampire Talks About Sunrise at Sunset

Here as part of the Romancing Your Dark Side tour -

PAIGE TURNER
from Jaz Primo's Sunset Vampire Series

Paige: Hi, everybody! I'm Paige Turner from Jaz Primo's Sunset Vampire Series. I'm introduced in the first novel of the series, Sunrise at Sunset. *smirking* I show up about mid-way through the novel, actually. It's a little later than I would have preferred, but then, there it is. I'm not the writer, after all.
*Footsteps grow louder as someone rushes into the room*

Jaz: Paige! I happen to think that you show up at just the right time in the novel.
Paige: *shrugging* Whatever. I'm just sayin'.
*Jaz sighs and shakes his head*
Paige: Any-hoo...of all the vampires in the series, I think you'll find that I'm by far the most charming and witty in the bunch.
Jaz: Oh, good grief.

Paige: Hey! *wagging her finger at Jaz* Who's blog posting is this supposed to be anyway? You practically begged me to do this, you know.
Jaz: *Holding up his hands* Yep, you're right. Okay...sorry.
*Paige frowns at Jaz*
Paige: *whispering* Listen, Mr. Creativity, don't you have somewhere else to be, or maybe some editing to do? I've got your back here. Let me handle this, okay?
Jaz: Mm-hm, sure.
Paige: Come on, beat it!
*Paige rapidly pats and slaps her palms against Jaz as she ushers him towards the exit.*
Jaz: Okay, okay, it's all yours!
*Paige smiles with satisfaction and waits for Jaz to exit*
Paige: Please pardon the interruption, folks. Jaz is kind of a hands-on author, if you know what I mean. Still, he's a talented writer and a guy with a big heart, as well as a positively tasty neckline. Let's start this blog posting again from the top. And this time, I'll do my best to curtail any unnecessary interruptions.

So, here's the scoop with Sunrise at Sunset. I know that Jaz would get all artsy with you and try spinning his heavy wordsmith skills on you, but that's not how I roll. Personally, I think people appreciate the straight scuttlebutt, am I right? There's this really nice guy named Caleb. He's a history professor at a community college in Atlanta, Georgia, and he meets up with this rather heavy-handed, red-headed vampire named Katrina.
*thoughtful pause*
Okay, so maybe I shouldn't use the term "heavy handed" for Katrina. I mean, she's my best friend after all. Aww, hell, the truth is we go way back...she's almost like a sister to me. I don't know where I'd be today if it wasn't for her. The point is, she's always been what you might call a dominant sort of person. She likes to steer the ship...rule the roost...handle instead of being handled. In the vampire world, we call her an alpha. The sea sort of parts when she walks through a crowd of vampires, even among many of the older ones of our kind. Her previous history and reputation precedes her, you see. It's not her fault, really. A lot of bad things happened along the way for her. She means well, after all. Who knows. Maybe if I'd had a hard past like she's had, perhaps I'd be like her too.
Either way, she loves Caleb like nobody I've ever seen love someone. It's pretty impressive, really. He's good for her, I think. But then, the boy has his own issues, so she's good for him, too.
*chuckling*
Although I think I have an impact on him, as well.
*Furrowed eyebrows*

Where was I?
Oh yeah.
So, Caleb and Katrina meet when she enrolls in the college history class that he's teaching. Um, well, maybe that's not entirely correct. Katrina actually met him one day when he was just eight years old. Only, he doesn't remember that because she hypnotized him to suppress the memories from that day. Boy, didn't that turn into a real hoot!
*frowning*
Oh, yeah. I'm about three more novels ahead of you folks, so you don't know about that yet. Hey, don't shoot the messenger...this stuff is just like recalling real life events for me. You don't break your life up into neat little books, do you? That's a weird thing for me to get used to.
Anyway, you'll definitely want to read the second novel, A Bloody London Sunset. I show up quite a bit in that one!
*grinning*

But let's get back to Sunrise at Sunset. So, there's a real crazy vampire bitch from Katrina's past who's trying to get back at her for some "sins of the past" kind of crap. Katrina's not afraid of anyone, but this broad tries use Caleb to get back at Katrina. It's really ugly stuff, but you'll learn all about it if you read the novel.
*Extending her fangs*
Rather, that's WHEN you read the novel, right? I'm not just standing around here talking to you to hear my own voice rattling away, got it?
*Retracting her fangs*
Anyway, I get called in to help protect our boy, Caleb.
*smiling*
Katrina really hates it when I call him our boy, by the way.
But enough about all that. Suffice to say that it's an adventure and a love story, and you definitely want to read it.
*glancing at her watch*
Um, listen, I've got a hot date for some dancing at a local club tonight, so let's get on with this. Jaz mentioned that the blog moderator, Jennifer, also wants to know some stuff about him.
*frowning*

Hey, I wonder if he said that just so that I'll talk about him? You know, I wouldn't put it past him. These author types are so vain sometimes. But he's a good kid, and just in case it's true, here goes nothing.
*slipping an index card from the back pocket of her jeans*
"Jaz is an author, history buff, pun-master, and all-around lover of all things vampire and--"
Wait a minute, who wrote this crap?!
*slapping her forehead*

I bet he did. Geez, Jaz...we need to talk, bucko.
*ripping up the index card and casually tossing the pieces to the floor*
Forget all that bunk. Let me tell you some really interesting stuff about my creator that you won't find out in some lame press kit. Did you know that he doesn't know how to swim?
Yep, he sinks like a rock in open water!
*pausing*
Hey, his favorite snack when writing is salted cashews or almonds. He also like the chocolate covered ones, I noticed. And the little brainiac chugs down Coca-Cola and iced tea like its water!
*giggling*
Hey, wait a minute. Granted, iced tea is mostly water, but you get the point.
Jaz loves chocolate, too. Oh, and he listens to alternative rock while he writes. I have to admit, he's got some great taste in music: Muse, Land of Talk, Interpol, Gliss, The Kills, Boxer Rebellion, The National, etc. All my favorites, actually!
*whispering*
Personally, I think it's partly due to the positive influence that I have on him...
All-in-all, I'd say Jaz is a pretty cool guy. Okay, maybe a little nerdy, but it's kind of cute.
Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for the opportunity to chat with you for a little while.
*grinning*

Hey, before I go, I have one more tidbit of awesome news to share with you. Yours truly ends up on the cover of the third novel, Summit at Sunset! You should check it out when you get the chance...
Chow, babes. I hear a dance floor calling my name.
Wait, Jaz told me to close with this...
Peace.
*wink*
*Paige speeds from the room in a blur of motion*

The teaser for Sunrise at Sunset follows.
-----------------
When is a bloodthirsty predator the best protection against a psychotic killer?
When the predator is both a vampire...and the woman you love.

“We vampires are focused and tend to shape our own realities.”
My name is Katrina Rawlings, and I am a vampire. I declare that with neither pride nor ego. I am simply nature’s most dangerous predator. On occasion, it’s a very valuable quality. It helped me protect Caleb Taylor one day when he was very young. But that single, traumatic day is behind him now; wiped from his memory, or so I hope.
Caleb has finally matured into a rather striking young man, and believe me, I like what I see. I’ll readily admit that there are issues for us to confront and overcome, though a sense of mutual commitment isn’t one of them. I’m feeling hopeful for our future together, in fact. But an adversary from my past has returned to haunt me, and she’s trying to get back at me through Caleb. That was her first...and last...mistake. I’ll protect my Caleb at all costs, and I’ll make her regret the day she was born.
So, I suppose that I’m not just a vampire. I’m about to become someone’s worst nightmare!
-----------------

Hope you enjoy that as much as we did - Paige is one of my favorite characters in the series and I'm so glad Jaz let her do this post because you can see how fun she is.  Comment below to be entered to win a Kindle in the Romancing Your Dark Side tour - and also our 1st blog-iversary contest.

Eve Langlais is here with BUNNY and the BEAR

Eve Langlais to the blog today
– be sure you make it down to the end -

Hello everybody, my name is Eve and I am a Canadian romance writer. I am also a mother of three who has been married to my very own alpha for over 11 years now.

From highly sensual to outright erotic, my stories cover a variety of areas--paranormal, science fiction, fantasy and more. My stories have widely different heroines from shy, chubby and glasses wearing to outspoken, sassy and confident. My men all have on thing in common though, they are powerful and HOT!

Looking for dialogue and action driven fun, then check me out. For info on upcoming releases and to read excerpts, please visit me at http://www.EveLanglais.com

Warning: My stories often blur the line between good and evil, and in some cases stomps all over it.

What’s a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren’t supposed to mix, or that’s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won’t stay out of his business—and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her—naked in his grasp—a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda’s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol’ bear. Staying focused on the job isn’t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn’t count on a bear’s curious nature—and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

We are fortunate that Eve is giving away to one lucky commenter – a download of Bunny and the Bear for their very own.  Please comment below and make sure you are a follower to be entered to win.  We will draw a name tomorrow at the end of the day – September 7th and notify the author of the winner.  Remember the more visits you go to the more changes you have to win.
The tour dates can be found here at Goddess Fish Promotions:

Bunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais

Bunny And The BearWhat's a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren't supposed to mix, or that's what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won't stay out of his business--and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her--naked in his grasp--a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.
Miranda's on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol' bear. Staying focused on the job isn't easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn't count on a bear's curious nature--and possessive need.

Warning: A sense of humor is required for this erotic paranormal romance. This is a character driven story with a long build up to the erotic parts. Please note, that while no bunnies were permanently harmed in the making of this story, the prognosis isn't so good for the pie.(courtesy of Amazon)

Holy Cow!  Or did I mean bear?  This story is flirtatiously fun and scandalously sexy!  I was so interested in this book the minute I saw the Furry United Coalition was involved  - LOL - : ) – (those of you that know me will understand) and if you can’t figure it out – think acronym – F U C … ok, moving on…

Who doesn’t love a bunny in a battle?  Well, Langlais created some unique shifters in her book.  She has a heartening, fast-paced writing style.  Langlais’ humor and steam mix will leave you smoldering while giving you action and a good plot line just in case the heat wasn’t enough to keep you going.

I really enjoyed this book, in fact, I went and purchased a few more of hers immediately after finishing.

SPECIAL GUEST: JAMIE MAGEE with DRAKE

Author JAMIE MAGEE and Character DRAKE BLAKESHIRE

It is a pleasure to be here today as a part of Romancing your Dark Side tour! Jennifer was one of the very first reviewers of my Insight series and I’ve always considered myself lucky that she took an interest in my debut. Insight was my first attempt in writing and to be completely truthful the only reason it was published via ebook in the first place was for me to give my friends and friends of friends (or anyone who thought to ask me) a more polished version of my story. I never imagined that Insight would find readers across the globe or that I would be here today side by side with one of the characters that pushed me to write every day: my antagonist, Drake Blakeshire.

This will be my very first character guest post. When Jennifer asked to have Drake on this stop I was almost hesitant to consent because the Drake I know has not been completely revealed to the readers. He is very dynamic and every day he allows me to peer a little deeper into his soul. With each installment of the Insight series Drake seems to gain more ‘fans’ and I have no doubt that ‘team Drake’ fans are in for treat when my next novel, Image, is released in November.

I realize that some of you reading this post have not yet read the story of Insight and I desperately want you to discover Drake Blakeshire on your own. With that begin said I decided to take your back to before the story began – just days before. As you read his words, stare into his dark captivating eyes, hear his deep commanding voice, and let a tall young man come to life before you – take in the flawless features that could only belong to a prince, a prince that was groomed to rule over every dimension in this universe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drake:
Some people wonder what their purpose is – they question their dreams and the passion in their heart, but not me – no… I’ve always known – I’ve known since my first breath, since the first time I saw those mesmerizing emerald green eyes – since the first time I saw my love, my Willow in my dreams.

As I lay here staring at this dark gray sky all I can think about is her…those eyes, flawless olive skin…I know when my fingertips touch her for the first time in this life she will feel the energy of my love, the passion I have for her…my touch…my warm numbing touch. My fingertips ache for the moment they will trace the mark on her wrist… that captivating tattoo of an Ankh – the mark that tells me that she understands that life is eternal…our love is eternal.

I know she must worried about me, almost eight new moons have passed since I’ve met her in her dreams…I’ve been trying to prove to myself and anyone else who dares to doubt me that I was right…that she’s mine. Not seeing her has only made the dreams of our past more vivid, it as if the universes along with this dark forsaken dimension is mourning for our love, waiting for us to come together as one once again.

There is a sense of ominous foreboding that is surrounding the palace. My mother hasn’t look me in the eye for days, my father he’s anxious…I would take the time to wonder why if I had  a free thought, but I don’t. Donalt, the most powerful ruler I’ve ever met, the only one in this dimension is always occupying my time with his random prophecies. I cannot remember a time in my life when he wasn’t just a few feet away – he has told me I will succeed him, that his thrown will be mine. I doubt him. He’s a demon, one that has ruled for over four million years. He’ll never fall…he has a sinister plan. I can feel it. Sometimes… I swear I hear him in my mind telling me what to do – what to say. I fight him with my memories, the ones of my dreams with Willow. My dreams of her are not always pleasant…I know…I know that we have fought and died together over and over, but this life will be different…it’s different because I will not let anything or anyone stop us from being together for eternity – even if that means making a deal with the devil himself. She’s mine.

When I stand next to Donalt, before millions, I see the way they look at me – I see the pleading in their eyes. They want this grey hell to end and think that I will end it for them…I glance from one solemn expression to the next. Smiling…laughter… that is forbidden here, but I let my eyes fall into theirs…I stare into their empty souls and promise them that my time, Willow’s time, is upon us. I promise them that I will stop at nothing to bring her home. What happens after that point is no concern of mine…my purpose is to find her – to harness the power that our passion and love will release.

The Blue Moon that falls on Willow’s eighteenth year…that is when this pain and anger of not having her near me will end. That is when the power will belong to us – when we will be unstoppable.
_________________________________________________________________________

We all have a plan for our life…but sometimes life has different plans for us. Drake, along with the other characters of the Insight series will soon discover that nothing is a simple as it seems.
I truly hoped you all enjoyed stepping into the mind of Drake Blakeshire – I admit it was most defiantly fun for me. I want to thank Jennifer and Seduced by books one more time for having me here. Be sure to follow all of the authors on the Romancing Your Dark Side Tour for chance at endless giveaways and our grand prize – A kindle!

----Seduced by Books is glad to welcome Jamie once again (Thank you Thank you), and THRILLED to have Drake along with her.  I (Jenn) can honestly say when I read his post I had the chills – OOOH – If you have not read the Insight series (Insight and Embody) then you are missing out on a fan-tabulous series.  Click on the links to read our reviews.  Image (3rd in the series) is due out in a few months.   We are happy to be a part of the Romancing Your Dark Side Tour – www.vbtcafe.com and look forward to hosting 2 more authors on the tour.

Commenters (make sure you are a follower also) will be entered in the grand prize giveaway.
