Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

Firelight - by Sophie Jordan

FirelightWith her rare ability to breathe fire, Jacinda is special even among the draki—the descendants of dragons who can shift between human and dragon forms. But when Jacinda's rebelliousness leads her family to flee into the human world, she struggles to adapt, even as her draki spirit fades. The one thing that revives it is Will, whose family hunts her kind. Jacinda can't resist getting closer to him, even though she knows she's risking not only her life but the draki's most closely guarded secret. (via Sophie Jordan's website)

Sophie Jordan breaks out into the Young Adult paranormal genre.  Jordan's Firelight is the first in her Draki Series.  Intensity at it's best for this YA genre.  From the first page we’ve got flying action. I don’t want to give any spoilers, there is SO much going on in this book. I was tied to it to finish, it's a quick read.  So, I'll say, I recommend this book for the young adult and adult…I’ve read Sophie Jordan’s pen name, Sharie Kohler, and loved the Moonchasers series, so reading this book, she had a lot to live up to, thankfully for young adult I was not disappointed.

Jacinda is a fire-cracker, doesn’t always follow the rules, I can definitely relate to that.  She's taken from her home and forced to fit in else where.  She's used to being the popular girl. Her world is turned upside down and she's losing what she needs most.  Will - oh my Will - he's the only one that keeps Jacinda feeling straight to her soul.  Will's testament at the end of the book gives me chills.
Jordan's given us the right amount of detail and plot.  The ending – let’s say I’m on the cliff – desperately waiting for book 2 to see where we are going.

  1. Jacinda is heading back to the pride after revealing her true self. The opening scene is so action packed and shocking. Will and his family are shaded or are they? Wondering how they were shaded and who did it, well you'll have to read Vanish to find out. Once Jacinda and her family return home to the pride she sees what their leaving has caused. There is now a curfew and lots of new rules among the pride. Jacinda lost her job and possibly so much more.
