Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

Abby Cooper: Psychic Eye - By Victoria Laurie

Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients-or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever. (courtesy of Amazon)

I know the title says it’s a review of Abby Cooper: Psychic Eye, but this is actually more of a general review of Victoria Laurie since. I stumbled across Victoria Laurie quite by accident.  I was browsing the books for sale section in my library, looking for anything paranormal or interesting.  I saw Ghouls Just Haunt to Have Fun and Demons are a Ghouls Best Friend, and figured I’d give them a try.   I’m so glad I did.  These were books two and three in her Ghost Hunter Mysteries.  I found books one and four – What’s a Ghoul to Do and Ghouls Gone Wild - and read through all of them in about a week!  They were easy reads with enjoyable storylines.  And I love the characters!!  The main character, M.J., is a medium.  She and her partner Gilly have a “ghost busting” business.  Clients hire them to help clear ghosts out of their homes or businesses.  Sometimes it’s easy, and sometimes there is a lot of danger involved.   I thoroughly enjoyed them all and can’t wait for book five – Ghouls, Ghouls, Ghouls – to come out December, 28th.

While I was searching for the two books in her Ghost Hunters Mysteries series that I didn’t have, I saw that she also had a Psychic Eye Mysteries series.  Since I liked the first series so much, I knew I’d like this one as well, and I wasn’t wrong!  Abby Cooper: Psychic Eye is book one in this series.  Abby is a psychic intuitive who has a successful business doing readings for people. I like that she’s a bit feisty!  One of her clients ends up dead and she seems to know a lot of details about it, so the police start looking in her direction.   When she finds out the blind date she went on is the lead investigator on the case (and hadn’t called her since the date) she gives him quite an attitude.  I like when the main female character isn’t a pushover.  It doesn't hurt when the main male character is hot, either! ;)

Anyway, if you’d like a quick read that’s entertaining, I definitely suggest trying either of Victoria Laurie’s series.

  1. I'm very similar in that when I find an author I like, I go out and try to read every one of their books. This one looks like a fun author to follow.
