Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

Soul Thief by Jana Oliver

Riley Blackthorne is beginning to learn that there are worse things than death by demon. And love is just one of them…

Seventeen-year-old Riley has about had it up to here. After the devastating battle at the Tabernacle, trappers are dead and injured, her boyfriend Simon is gravely injured, and now her beloved late father’s been illegally poached from his grave by a very powerful necromancer. As if that’s not enough, there's Ori, one sizzling hot freelance demon hunter who’s made himself Riley’s unofficial body guard, and Beck, a super over-protective “friend” who acts more like a grouchy granddad.  With all the hassles, Riley’s almost ready to leave Atlanta altogether.
But as Atlanta’s demon count increases, the Vatican finally sends its own Demon Hunters to take care of the city’s “little” problem, and pandemonium breaks loose. Only Riley knows that she might be the center of Hell’s attention: an extremely powerful Grade 5 demon is stalking her, and her luck can't last forever…(courtesy of Amazon)

Book 2 in the Demon Trapper's Daughter series.

This book should be called Soul Deep - because that's how far it takes you.  Our leading girl, Riley, has been through so much - losing both parents (we learn in book 1) how could she possibly take on much more.  But that's exactly what happens.  She's a demon trapper - well apprentice - and she's kicking ass!  Her last name however, has her in a bind and demon's are hunting her down.

Of course, every teenage girl has drama - so why can't Riley just have to deal with the normal crap.  No, not our girl, she's got drama in her love life all while she's trying to stay alive.  My heart truly broke for her.  I finished this book last night and couldn't wait to write my review.  Oliver definitely delivers a story full of plot and action as well as sucking you into the character and living her emotional ride.  I love Oliver's writing style, and I enjoy when a series drops off and picks right back up so you just don't lose the momentum.  Even when they are months apart Oliver gets you right back in the middle of the story starting on the first page.

Oh Ori - WHY?  GUT RETCHING!  I'm pushing for my girl Riley, I can't wait to see how she pulls herself out of this and who ends up by her side when she does it!  I enjoyed that the first 2 chapters of the third book are a sneak peek in the end of this book.  But I'm DYING for it to come out.  **SPOILER** Riley my girl, it's ok, the next time will be better, and I'm hoping it will be with a certain trapper :)
