Welcome to our blog!
Amy and Jennifer ARE Seduced by Books. We’re both in our 30’s, moms, close friends, work together, and share many of the same interests including our love of reading. Amy grew up in Maryland and has been obsessed with Vampires for as long as she can remember. Jenn grew up in Florida and loves the furry, the fey, and the fangs, in that order. Currently we are both in Orlando, FL. When we can be pulled away from books, Amy loves to bake and Jenn loves to take pictures and scrap.
We decided to create a place where we could direct friends, and acquaintances for, book suggestions/recommendations (Jenn’s been known to talk to strangers on the train while traveling in NYC). Once we started out with a simple page, we evolved from there. Now we are sharing our book reviews, fun comments, recipes, and giveaways. We try to give reviews on new releases, pre-releases, and oldies but goodies that we read, or are reading. We’re going to be adding author interviews for established and up and coming authors soon.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls)For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.(courtesy of Amazon)

Book 1 in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series

Where can I start to do this book justice?  Hmm, Stiefvater has an interesting writing style to say the least.  Each chapter is in a different perspective, one chapter is Grace the next is Sam, or you might have 3 in a row of Grace and then only 1 of Sam.  At first I thought, am is this going to work for me?  And then, I was dying to get into the others head.  I loved seeing Grace doing one thing and seeing Sam's story in his view that happened at the same time.  I've done other books that switched, but not as intense as this one.

And let's talk about the heat - the passion for a YA read - really brings you back to the fact that YA doesn't mean children's books!  Hooray for Sam and Grace!  Well done Stiefvater, the right timing, the right setting, the right heat with out making it too much!  Just plain RIGHT! (and way to throw in the safety comment).

This story isn't just about Grace and Sam, it's about destiny.  Olivia finds hers, while Grace is hoping hers will stay.  All the while, werewolves are real, in this small town, and there's got to be a way to solve their illness.  Stiefvater gives a fresh breath to the world of wolves.

I am so anxious for Book 2, Linger, to get here.  Stiefvater ends you at such an important moment.
